Monday 5/22 - Friday 5/26

Today was our first day of California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) testing. We'll continue our state testing for the remainder of the week.

There will be no homework this week while we conduct state testing. Woo-hoo!!

Be sure to get a good night's sleep each night and eat a filling and nutritious breakfast each morning. We want you ready to show off and demonstrate everything you've learned this year!

Also, I will not be in this week, due to my being at the Division 3 National Track & Field Championships. I look forward to seeing you all again next Tuesday, best of luck to all of you!

Friday 5/19

Today we finished going over our semester 2 review packet, then worked on MATHia or getting caught up on other work for the remainder of the period. Come ready to ace the SBAC next week, you'll all do great!

Wednesday 5/17 & Thursday 5/18

Today we worked on a review of our second semester material to prepare for both the SBAC next week and our Final the following week. We will finish it up tomorrow in class to make sure everyone has the correct answers. Make sure to hold on to it to use as a study tool!

Monday 5/15 & Tuesday 5/16

Today we worked on a practice performance task in class.

Friday 5/12

We worked on MATHia all day today, remember grades will be calculated tonight! Finish up our Volume Module on your own if you didn't in class today.

Thursday 5/11

Today we worked with the volume of spheres in Lesson 14.3, and noticed how all three formulas you have now learned are all related to one another!

Wednesday 5/10

We continued our work with cylinders and volume today, along with introducing volume of cones using two worksheets separate from the book. Tomorrow we will look at spheres to finish up our work on volume.

Tuesday 5/9

Today we began our look at volume by investigating the properties of cylinders in Lesson 14.1. We did the first two parts of the lesson today, and will continue with the rest of it tomorrow.

Unfortunately I was out again today. Again, you all should have progressed in MATHia, our Volume Module is due Friday!

We took our Chapter 13 Test today. If you need more time to finish up we will do that tomorrow during class and at lunch.

Wednesday 5/3

We had a review day for the chapter 13 test tomorrow. Well done everyone, we did very well on it! Keep the sheet you were working on close to your chapter 13 packet, it's good review material.

Tuesday 5/2

We discussed operations with scientific notation today in Lesson 13.5.

You should now be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers written in scientific notation, just as you can numbers written as a integer, decimal, or fraction. It's all connected.

Monday 5/1

We had a Boss Battle today to review powers, along with work in MATHia. Make sure we are getting work done quickly, we have a very busy end of the year coming up!

Today for our minimum day we finished our intro to scientific notation today with the last part of Lesson 13.4.

Wednesday 4/26

Today we learned how to use scientific notation to represent both really large and really small numbers in Lesson 13.4. We'll do some more work with scientific notation tomorrow.

Tuesday 4/25

Today we finished our look at exponent properties with a look at negative and zero exponents in Lesson 13.3.

This now completes all six of the exponent rules that you need to memorize and be able to use to solve and simplify a variety of problems. You'll find all six in the graphic on this post. Study, study, study; practice, practice, practice!
