Today we finished up Lesson 10.2, focusing on solving for unknown angles measures using all our new key terms. Make sure we keep track of definitions and what they mean when setting up Mathematical Sentences!

We took our Chapters 8 & 9 test today in class. We go back in to Chapter 10 next week.

Apologies, I forgot to put this in and it's been a busy weekend. Here is this week's extra credit:
  1. Draw a detailed, colorful map of the neighborhood and area surrounding one of your favorite places.
  2. Label street names, landmarks, and other points of interest on your map
  3. Identify on the map an example of each of the different types of lines you learned about in Lesson 10.1
  4. Identify on the map an example of each of the different types of angles you learned about in Lesson 10.2
  5. Bring your finished product to Mr. Clarey by Wednesday.

We finished Chapter 9 today with our last look at similar figures, this time on a coordinate plane, in Lesson 9.4.

We'll be taking the Chapter 8 & 9 Test on Friday, make sure we are prepared for dilations and similarity.

Busy day today!

We started off with a new seating chart, followed by filling out new cards so you can help me get to know you all better. Then we finished the day working on a review together for Common Assessment #4.

We start the Common assessment tomorrow, make sure you look over you're old work from Ch. 7 & 8 to come prepared to take on this test!

Friday 2/10

We dove into the concept of similarity today with the first part of Lesson 9.2. We'll wrap it up Tuesday.

Homework: Finish Problem 2 #'s 1a and 1b in 9.2 & write a paragraph comparing and contrasting the terms congruent and similar. Be sure to discuss detailed characteristics like corresponding angles and corresponding sides. Be thorough in your analysis.

Also, because of the week being a bit mixed up between the test and a sub, I've decided to extend my accepting test corrections to Monday as I wasn't able to remind you all about it before today. If you see this make sure everyone else in the class logs on at some point this weekend so everyone is on the same page!

We had the Math High School Diagnostics Test today! It was a long one but good job getting through what you could. Remember, this test will not be going in the gradebook.

Edit: Makeups will be done starting Friday. You will have to be pulled out of class to make it up, you'll get a pass.
