We discovered the difference between equal and congruent, and investigated how to write congruence statements and measure/length statements.

**Homework:**Textbook pages 439-440

We learned about congruent triangles today in the first half of Lesson 8.2.

We started our Chapter 7 test today in class; we'll finish it up tomorrow.

We finished our introduction to transformations today with the second half of Lesson 7.4.

We'll be taking our**Chapter 7 test tomorrow**. Be sure to study your chapter summary, warm-ups, class work, and homework to help you arrive fully prepared. This'll be your first test of second semester, and you want to get off to a great start!

Here are a couple of extra practice problems: Transformations Review

Today we tackled reflections with the first half of Lesson 7.4. We'll finish the other half tomorrow.

We'll be taking our Chapter 7 test on Thursday, which will cover all three**transformations** that we've learned so far:

Be sure to study lessons 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, and 7.4 to get yourself fully prepared.

**Homework:** Transformations worksheet

We'll be taking our Chapter 7 test on Thursday, which will cover all three

- Translations
- Rotations
- Reflections

Be sure to study lessons 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, and 7.4 to get yourself fully prepared.

We worked in MATHia today.

__Reminder__: the Geometric Transformations module is due on Friday.

We finished our look at rotations today with the second half of Lesson 7.3.

We also learned how to use the Darth Vader in the City technique to rotate points and vertices about any point. This is going to come in very handy on our test next week!

**Homework:** Textbook pages 413-414 "Talk the Talk"

**Wednesday HW Solutions:** Rotations worksheet answer key

We also learned how to use the Darth Vader in the City technique to rotate points and vertices about any point. This is going to come in very handy on our test next week!

Today we worked with rotations with the first part of Lesson 7.3. We'll finish the rest of the lesson tomorrow.

Today is class we explored the effects of our second kind of transformation, a rotation, with an awesome Desmos activity.

For those that were absent today, you'll need to complete the activity at home on your own. Head to student.desmos.com and type in the class code that goes with your period.

We continued our work with translations today with a look at translating linear functions in Lesson 7.2.

We discovered that translating a linear function either vertically or horizontally will change the y-intercept, but will not change the slope in any way.

Since the laptop connections have been restored, we jumped back into MATHia today and started the Geometric Transformations module.

**Homework:** Compose a summary of Lesson 7.1. Be detailed and include all the new terms learned throughout the lesson.

We contained our look at translations today with the second half of Lesson 7.1.

Here's the Desmos tool we used for translations in class today: bit.ly/desmostranslations. It may come in handy on your homework tonight.

**Homework:** Finish textbook pages 392-393 and do Talk the Talk #1 on page 394

We had some technical issues with our laptops today, so we jumped into translations with Lesson 7.1.
