Thursday 1/26

We started our Chapter 7 test today in class; we'll finish it up tomorrow.

Don't forget: Your MATHia X Geometric Transformations module is due tomorrow!

Homework: Chapter 8 Pre-Test

Wednesday, January 25, 2017

Wednesday 1/25

We finished our introduction to transformations today with the second half of Lesson 7.4.

We'll be taking our Chapter 7 test tomorrow. Be sure to study your chapter summary, warm-ups, class work, and homework to help you arrive fully prepared. This'll be your first test of second semester, and you want to get off to a great start!

Tuesday, January 24, 2017

Tuesday 1/24

Today we tackled reflections with the first half of Lesson 7.4. We'll finish the other half tomorrow.

We'll be taking our Chapter 7 test on Thursday, which will cover all three transformations that we've learned so far:
  • Translations
  • Rotations
  • Reflections

Be sure to study lessons 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, and 7.4 to get yourself fully prepared.

Homework: Transformations worksheet

Monday, January 23, 2017

Monday 1/23

We worked in MATHia today.

Reminder: the Geometric Transformations module is due on Friday.

Friday 1/20

Congrats on finishing your 20th week! Have a great weekend, everyone.

Here is this week's extra credit:

Thursday, January 19, 2017

Thursday 1/19

We finished our look at rotations today with the second half of Lesson 7.3.

We also learned how to use the Darth Vader in the City technique to rotate points and vertices about any point. This is going to come in very handy on our test next week!

Homework: Textbook pages 413-414 "Talk the Talk"

Wednesday HW Solutions: Rotations worksheet answer key

Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Wednesday 1/18

Today we worked with rotations with the first part of Lesson 7.3. We'll finish the rest of the lesson tomorrow.

Homework: Rotations worksheet & finish any leftover class work (from either today or yesterday)

Tuesday, January 17, 2017

Tuesday 1/17

Today is class we explored the effects of our second kind of transformation, a rotation, with an awesome Desmos activity.

For those that were absent today, you'll need to complete the activity at home on your own. Head to student.desmos.com and type in the class code that goes with your period.

Period 4: UQ8X7

Homework: Play the Center of Rotation game at home with a parent or sibling.

Great first week back, everyone. Don't forget to keep up with your MATHia goals. This three-day weekend would be a good time to get ahead.

Here is this week's extra credit:

Thursday, January 12, 2017

Thursday 1/12

We continued our work with translations today with a look at translating linear functions in Lesson 7.2.

We discovered that translating a linear function either vertically or horizontally will change the y-intercept, but will not change the slope in any way.

Homework: Textbook pages 403-405 (#4-7)

Wednesday 1/11

Since the laptop connections have been restored, we jumped back into MATHia today and started the Geometric Transformations module.

Homework: Compose a summary of Lesson 7.1. Be detailed and include all the new terms learned throughout the lesson.

Tuesday, January 10, 2017

Tuesday 1/10

We contained our look at translations today with the second half of Lesson 7.1.
